Data protection information

In the context of using the websites accessible under your personal data is processed by the controller Volkswagen Financial Services AG responsible for data processing (see paragraph 7, hereinafter also referred to using “we” or “us”) and is stored for as long as it is required to fulfil the purposes specified and statutory obligations. Volkswagen Financial Services AG is commissioned by Volkswagen Bank GmbH to carry out the recruiting of Volkswagen Bank GmbH.

You will find information below detailing which personal data this concerns, how it will be processed and information on your rights with respect to the processing, particularly with regard to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Processing of personal data and purposes of processing

a) When visiting the websites

You can visit our websites without telling us who you are. We learn only the name of your internet service provider, the website from which you are visiting us and the pages that you visit on our site. This information will be used for statistical purposes, you as an individual user will remain anonymous.

In addition we use cookies and analysis services when visiting our website. You can find more detailed descriptions of this under paragraphs 3 and 4 of this data protection Information.

b) When creating a user account

If you create a profile in the applicant cockpit we shall collect the following data based on art. 6 sec. S.1 1 lit. b GDPR to implement the application process:

. First name
. User Name
. residence
. Email address

Via your user account you can decide yourself if your application is submitted only for specific vacancies or if you would like to transmit your profile via our recruiting team in Volkswagen Financial Services AG and Volkswagen Bank GmbH. You have the possibility at any time to delete your user account yourself. Inactive user accounts are automatically deleted after a period of 180 days.

c) When submitting an application

The controller collects, processes and stores personal data that you have provided to us as applicant or that is created in connection with your application. Your data will be processed for the purpose of implementing the application procedure based on art. 6 sec. 1 S.1 lit. b GDPR.

We process data of the following categories:

Private contact and identification data:
For example:  Surname, first name, gender, address, email address, telephone number, date and place of birth, nationality etc.

Data on personal/professional relationships and characteristics
Example: Data on spouse or children, marital status, photo, honorary office, job title, professional career, tasks, entry and leaving dates, qualifications, desired salary, application history etc.

Particularly sensitive personal data in accordance with article 9 GDPR
Example: Severe disability status etc.

Your data will be deleted 180 days after completion of the application process. This shall not apply if statutory provisions are opposed to a deletion that require further storage for the purpose of argumentation or if you have explicitly agreed to a longer period of storage. The retention period of an unsolicited application can be up to six months.

2. Third country transmission

The controller uses as part of this business relation also processors and other contractors (e.g. from the following branches: Information and communication technology) with seat outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). The transmission of your data is carried out in accordance with the special conditions of Art. 44 - 49 GDPR, especially the appropriate level of protection will be ensured on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission under Art. 45 GDPR or closed standard data protection clauses under Art. 46 Para. 2 lit. c and d GDPR. You can download and see the standard data protection clauses on the website of the European Commission or call for them directly at the controller to get them as a copy.

3. Cookies

We use cookies on our site. These are small files that your browser creates automatically and that are saved on your terminal device (laptop, tablet, smart phone or similar) when you visit our page. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device, do not contain any viruses, trojans or other malicious software.

The cookie stores information that is generated in connection with the specifically used terminal device. However, this does not mean that we are immediately of your identity.

The use of cookies serves on the one hand to make the use of our offer more comfortable to you. We use so-called session cookies to detect that you have already visited individual pages of our website.

In addition, to optimise the ease of use, we use temporary cookies that are stored on your terminal device of a particular specified period of time. When you visit our page again to use our services, it is automatically detected that you have already been here and what inputs and settings you have made, so you don’t have to enter them again.

On the other hand we use cookies to detect the use of our website statistically and to evaluate it in order to optimise our offer for you (see paragraph 4). These cookies allow us to detect automatically when you visit our site again that you have already been here. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time, however at the latest after 24 months.

The data processed by cookies is required for the said purposes to safeguard our legitimate interest as well that of third parties according to art. 6 sec. 1 S. 1 lit. et seq GDPR.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser in such a way that no cookies are stored on your computer or that you will receive a message before a new cookie is stored. The complete deactivation of cookies can, however, cause that you cannot use all functions of our website.

4. Tracking / Web analytics

The following tracking measures employed by us are performed on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR. We use these tracking functions because we want to make sure your website experience is tailored to your needs and to ensure the continuous improvement of our website. In addition, we use tracking measures to analyse website use for statistical purposes. Furthermore, we use the data for optimized presentation of advertising content. These interests are to be considered as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned statute. You can ascertain the specific purpose of the processing and the categories of data from the description of the corresponding Tracking-tools.

Adobe Analytics
We use Adobe Analytics on our website, a web analytics service of Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited, 4-6 Riverwalk, Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24, Republic of Ireland (hereinafter: "Adobe"). In this context pseudonymous user profiles are created and cookies are used. The information created through the use of cookies regarding your use of our website such as

  • browser type / version,
  • the operating system used,
  • referrer URL (the website visited before),
  • host name of the accessing computer (IP address),
  • time stamp of server request,

are transferred to and stored on a server belonging to Adobe in Ireland.

The information will be used to analyse website use, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services in connection with website use and internet use for the purposes of marketing and ensuring an internet experience tailored to users' needs.

Furthermore, this information may be transferred to third parties to the extent that this may be legally required or that third parties process these data on behalf of others. Under no circumstances will your IP address be combined with other data held by Adobe. The IP addresses will be anonymised so that attribution is not possible (IP masking).

You can block the installation of cookies by making appropriate settings in your browser software. We would like to point out however, in this case you may not be able to fully use the entire functions of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of the data created by the cookie and relating to your use of our website (including your IP address) and the processing of such data by Adobe by refusing your consent to collection by Adobe Analytics. An opt-out cookie is created which prevents the collection of your data when you visit this website in the future. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and for this website and will be stored in your end device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you have to set another opt-out cookie.

Google Ads

We use the web analysis service Google Ads (formerly Adwords) from Google on our website to place online advertisements. In this context, we do not process any of your personal data. More information about data processing by Google can be found here.


5. Data security

All data personally transmitted by you is transferred encrypted using the common and secure TLS (Transport Layer Security) standard. TLS is a secure and reliable standard which is also used for online banking, for example. You recognise a safe TLS connection, among other things, by the attached s at the http (thus https://..) in the address bar of your browser or at the lock symbol in the lower section of your browser.

Apart from that we use suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

6. Rights of data subjects

You have the right:

. according to art. 15 GDPR to request information about the personal data processed by the controller. In particular, you may request information about the purposes of processing, the categories of personal data concerned, the categories of recipient to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the period for which it is envisaged the personal data will be stored, whether the right to request rectification or erasure or restriction of processing exists, about the right to object to processing of personal data, whether you have the right to lodge a complaint, any available information as to the source of the data if it was not collected by the controller, and about the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, and, if applicable, meaningful information about the process involved;

. in accordance with Article 16 GDPR, to obtain from the controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data;

. in accordance with Article 17 GDPR, to demand the erasure of any of your personal data stored by the controller, unless the processing is required for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for complying with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest, or for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims;

. in accordance with Article 18 GDPR, to request the restriction of processing of your personal data, if the accuracy of the data is contested by you, or the processing is unlawful but you oppose its erasure, if the processor no longer requires the data, but you require it in order to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or if you have objected to processing in accordance with Article 21 GDPR;

. in accordance with Article 7(3) GDPR, to withdraw your consent with respect to the controller. This has the consequence that the controller may no longer continue to process the data based solely on this consent and,

7. Right of objection
